Mathew Lucas, known as 89A, is a digital artist from Northern England. He’s been making his eclectic, fun, and experimental GIFs since 2011. When asked what inspired him to start making animated art, he said:

“Mainly it was a means to an end. I had to learn some new software and get my head into some basic motion graphics and 3D for a job. Then I fell in love with making gifs. It’s a great outlet for the weeks when you are working on a project with a little or no creativity. Just pop open Cinema 4D and have a play — see what comes out.”

Some of Mathew’s biggest inspirations include Matthew DiVito, Alec Mackenzie, David Whyte, and Iain Acton
